Welcome, Inspiration Mountain Knights!

I look forward to another school year here at Inspiration Mountain.  It is my goal to explore new adventures in reading and writing, while setting goals based on students' strengths and weaknesses.  We will take reading to a more in-depth level this school year.  We have taken a big jump from learning to read and and switch gears to reading to learning.       

Experience

I graduated from Grand Canyon University Summa Cum Laude with a Dual Bachelors Degree in Special Education and Elementary Education.  I have been with Deer Valley  Unified School District for 12 years!  I have taught specialized instruction K-6 and have taught 3rd & found my niche with 4th grade!  I have taught 4th grade E.L.A. for 6 years now.  My vision in the classroom is to provide high-yield strategies to encourage student engagement so that students will soar academically and socially. 
 

About Me

Michigan is where I was born and raised!  I moved to Arizona over 29 years ago, where I met my husband, and raised our 3 sons.  I'm proud to say that I have an N.A.U. Lumberjack and an A.S.U Sun Devil graduate in the family!  I am a Grandmother as well!  Family is extremely important to me.  In our free time we love to explore while mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, and even taking camping adventures.  A couple of years ago, we became "empty nesters" and decided to add a couple of additions to our little family.  We are happily raising 2 standard Australian Shepherds who now also share our love of nature and exploration!  Most recently we moved to an acre of land where we will explore additional hobbies in the future!
