Hi, my name is Kim Downey the K-2 Gifted Specialist for Inspiration Mountain on Fridays.

My role is to pull gifted and talented small groups, to help them with deeper thinking skills. I also go into each Kinder through 2nd grade classrooms to do a whole group activity, which  helps all students to use strategies to break down their thinking process to solve and create.  Each student will be participating in PETS (Primary Educational Thinking Skills) and Habits of Mind activities. This will allow the students to strengthen their:                              

Deductive/Convergent/Analytical/Divergent/Creative/Evaluative/Visual/Spatial perception/ Inventive thought process. 

 

This will be my 37th year of teaching, with my career focused on kindergarten-2nd grade. I have my Masters in Education and I have had my Gifted Endorsement for 13 years.  I look forward to working with students through fun-thinking activities and engagement.
